F-Prot - the specialised antivirus

This page is dedicated to the support of those who have chosen F-Prot from FRISK International for their virus protection.

Unlike many of the better-known antivirus systems, F-Prot is designed to do what it says on the can:

F-Prot is an antivirus program

F-Prot is not an all-encompassing behemoth that tries to take over the whole of the security of your computer.
F-Prot concentrates on doing one job extremely well.
I visit many systems that are running slowly or having more serious problems. Too often, disabling the all singing, all dancing security system that is behaving like an over-officious nanny will solve the "problem" at a stroke.

That's why I recommend F-Prot.

A new version

F-prot announced a new version of their antivirus software in December 2006 for the Home User license (which covers up to 5 computers in the user's home) and in January 2007 for the Corporate license

If you have not upgraded to this new generation of F-Prot antivirus, you are strongly advised so to do. There is no additional charge for this upgrade.

Users of Windows 98 will need to retain the older version as it does not run on this old software. Those using a dial-up connection will find that the download time of the new version is well worthwhile because regular updates happen very much more quickly.
